CleanHub - Earth day 2026

Earth Day on April 22 is a great opportunity to once again draw attention to CleanHub.

CleanHub is already active with its waste collection projects at many coastal litter hotspots, including in South India (Kerala), Indonesia, Tanzania, and Guatemala.

Since 2024, we have been providing financial support to CleanHub by funding their global projects to collect plastic waste.

Year after year, we cover the costs of collecting 2,000 kg of plastic. As of April 16, 2026, the total stood at 3,633 kg of collected plastic waste—equivalent to approximately 181,644 0.5-liter bottles (weighing 20 g each).

But CleanHub does much more than that. The organization combines the cleanup of beaches, coastlines, and riverbanks with social projects and the recycling of the collected plastic. This brings people together, ensures their work is valued and fairly compensated, empowers women, and strengthens environmental awareness and community spirit.

Take a look at what we've already accomplished with our contribution:

How does CleanHub work?

We have found a reliable partner in CleanHub. CleanHub organizes waste collection on land, especially for plastic waste.
The collection points in India, Indonesia and Cambodia intercept the waste before it even reaches the environment by collecting it directly from households, rivers and as by-catch from fishermen in the sea. CleanHub is helping to set up these collection systems, giving communities access to waste disposal for the first time to prevent environmental littering and open burning. Each financial contribution helps expand the model to coastal regions around the world and creates stable and dignified jobs for local communities.

Once collected, the waste is sorted into different categories so that each material can be disposed of correctly. Recyclable plastics are sold to local recyclers and non-recyclable plastics are processed in the most environmentally friendly way. All recovered plastics can be tracked via the CleanHub app.

The live report shows how much plastic has already been recovered by the CleanHub network. This figure increases every time the collected plastic is finally processed. So we can check every few weeks. The live report shows how much plastic has already been recovered by the CleanHub network.
