Outstanding: AlmaWin receives the German Sustainability Award 2026
We are proud and delighted. On December 5, Marion Jäger and Rudolf Bund were presented with the German Sustainability Award 2026 at a ceremony on the “Stage of the Best.”
The German Sustainability Award is one of the most important German awards for ecological, social, and economic commitment. It recognizes our more than 30 years of consistent commitment to sustainability and ecology. The jury views us as an outstanding role model in our industry and as a pioneer in sustainable transformation. From the very beginning, we have deeply embedded our commitment to the environment, climate protection, and health protection in all areas of our family business.
ENVIRONMENTAL STANDARDS AND USE OF RAW MATERIALS SCORE POINTS
The resources-saving use of raw materials and the high environmental standards, like EMAS III, ECOCERT® and Ecogarantie® in production were particularly convincing. All ingredients are eco-certified with ECOCERT® and Ecogarantie® and free from microplastics, nanoparticles, phosphonates, chlorine, optical brighteners, and synthetic additives. Instead, we rely on plant-based raw materials, GMO-free enzymes, and innovative technologies such as orange terpenes or liquid soap nut extracts, which combine effectiveness and the use of renewable raw materials.
CLIMATE PROTECTION
Another focus is on climate protection: we purchase electricity exclusively from renewable energy sources and use energy-efficient technologies such as heat recovery, LED lighting, and low-energy buildings with heat pumps and green roofs. Our own photovoltaic system also supplies our production processes with renewable energy—a commitment that was particularly highlighted by the jury.
RECYCLABLE PACKAGING AND RECYCLING SYSTEMS
We have also been leading the way in packaging for years. Cardboard boxes are made from 90% recycled paper, and we also use grass cardboard and material-reduced packaging. The bottle bodies are made from 100% recycled plastic, the caps from 95%, and the labels are bio-based.
THINKING ABOUT THE FUTURE – REMAINING TRANSPARENT – SETTING VALUES
We also participate in research projects to develop new, recycled bio-based raw materials and work closely with PreZero to achieve a closed recycling loop. In addition, we support CleanHub, which reduces plastic waste in coastal regions worldwide.
Our broad-based commitment is also reflected in our very specific commitments: eco-certifications according to the independent and internationally recognized ECOGARANTIE and ECOCERT standards.
At the international European level, we are committed to actively improving our environmental goals and transparent communication, especially in terms of resource efficiency, emissions, and waste, with EMAS certification.
Furthermore, GREEN BRANDS evaluates the company and the AlmaWin and Klar EcoSensitive brands every two years in terms of innovation and progress toward environmental goals. GREEN BRANDS is a guarantee mark recognized by the EU.
REASONABLE PRODUCTS FOR OUR CUSTOMERS
AlmaWin offers environmentally concious consumers a wide range of alternative laundry detergents, dishwashing liquids, and cleaning products without compromising on effectiveness, ease of use, or skin compatibility, making it easier to participate in ecological change.
