Save energy and wash clean: is it possible?
Yes - of course! We show you how it works:
Saving energy is the order of the day - it reduces our carbon footprint, conserves resources and benefits the wallet, too!
Here's a few simple tips:
- Reduce washing temperature by 1 level: e.g. from 40°C to 30°C . Depending on the machine, this already saves 40% energy.
With modern detergents, normally soiled laundry becomes hygienically clean even at low temperatures. 60°C and 90°C washes are only rarely necessary: e.g. for laundry with germs, or once or twice a month to keep the machine germ-free. - Avoid pre-washing: only for really very heavily soiled laundry, such as work clothes, can pre-washing be useful.
- Use eco programs: Ecoprograms run longer, but use less electricity and water relative to normal programs. Fast and express programs consume relatively more electricity and are not as efficient in terms of washing performance.
- Pre-treat stains instead of overdosing: With gall soap or some liquid detergent or curd soap, rub the stain and then put the textile in the washing machine. Thus, on the spot, the necessary cleaning is achieved.
- Load the washing machine to capacity: Make full use of the machine's capacity - and do without the "little wash in between", even if your favorite sweater is still in the laundry basket for a while. This way you get the maximum effect out of water and energy consumption.
- Airing instead of washing: Wool clothing in particular can clean itself - by airing. Even grandma knew that. The wool fibers repel dirt particles as they absorb moisture. Even a smoky blouse smells fresh again after a few hours on the balcony.
- Washing less often: no wonder - but let's be honest: worn once and then straight into the washing basket? That often doesn't have to be the case. Airing, or washing out individual stains by hand, often does the trick.
- Spin at max 1400 rpm: this is perfectly sufficient to achieve a fast drying process - preferably on the clothes rack. In addition, the laundry is not so wrinkled and does not need to be ironed.
Saving resources with our cool fellows!
With AlmaWin detergents you can wash cold:
Our particularly "cool fellows" can be used at temperatures as low as 20 °C/68° F.
All other detergents, whether powder or liquid, can be used from 30 °C/86° F and are effective, thanks to our high-performance formulations.
In addition, all detergents are concentrates: This means: lower dosing quantity, smaller packaging, less material and resource consumption.
